Welcome to Vizhigal!

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Vizhigal web application ("Platform"). By logging in and using Vizhigal, you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

• Campus Exclusive: Vizhigal is designed strictly for the students, faculty, and staff of SSN and SNU.
• Account Security: We maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

2. The Marketplace (Buy, Sell, Rent, Services)

• A Neutral Venue: Vizhigal is purely a platform to connect buyers and sellers. We do not own, inspect, or guarantee any items, services, or projects listed on the feed.
• Transactions at Your Own Risk: Any transaction, payment, or physical meetup arranged through Vizhigal is strictly between the users involved. Vizhigal and its developers are not liable for scams, defective items, unpaid rentals, or any disputes arising from user interactions.
• Prohibited Items: You may not list illegal items, weapons, illicit substances, stolen goods, or anything that violates campus rules. We reserve the right to delete any listing without notice.

3. User Conduct & Content

• Respect the Campus: No harassment, hate speech, spam, or abusive behavior in the feed or in private chats.
• Content Moderation: You own the content you post, but you grant Vizhigal the right to display it. We reserve the right to ban users or remove posts that violate our community standards.

4. The "Campus Shield" / SOS Feature (Important)

• Not a Replacement for Emergency Services: The SOS and Campus Shield features (current or future) are built for peer-to-peer awareness and campus security alerts. They are not a replacement for official emergency services. In a true life-threatening emergency, you must immediately call local authorities (Police/Ambulance) or campus security directly. Vizhigal is not liable for network failures, delayed notifications, or missed alerts during an emergency.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the creators of Vizhigal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to data loss, financial loss from marketplace deals, or service downtime.

Privacy Policy

1. What Information We Collect

• Profile Data: When you log in (via Google Auth/Email), we collect your email address, name, and profile picture to create your Vizhigal identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To operate the Vizhigal feed and enable secure user-to-user chatting.
• To moderate the platform and investigate reported users or fraudulent listings.
• To display your profile name and email to other verified campus users so they can contact you regarding your listings.

3. How We Share Your Information

• No Selling Data: We do absolutely not sell your personal data to third parties, advertisers, or outside companies.
• Campus Security / Legal Compliance: We may share your information, with college authorities or law enforcement only if required by law, to investigate severe campus rule violations, or in life-threatening emergencies.

4. Chat Privacy & Reporting

Your private chats are securely stored in our database.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard databases to secure your data.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use minimal cookies and local browser storage strictly to keep you logged in and manage your active session.
